America Found is a conversation about rediscovering our shared humanity.
In 2015, photojournalist and storyteller David Robert Farmerie set out with a simple question:
Are Americans really as divided as we are led to believe?
He didn't know the answer.
So he went looking.
For more than six years and 350,000 miles, David drove the backroads of America, stopping in forgotten towns, roadside diners, small communities, and places far from the national spotlight.
He talked with strangers.
He listened.
He photographed.
And he discovered that behind the headlines and political arguments were people with stories of their own—people carrying fears and hopes, loneliness and resilience, loss and possibility.
These are not headlines.
They are people.
America Found: From Division to Connection brings together the photographs, stories, and encounters that emerged from that journey.
It is not a political argument.
It is an attempt to look beyond the labels we so often place on one another and listen to the people behind them.
Because sometimes the best way to understand a country is to stop talking about it—and start talking to its people.
